Spring 2022 Reset

Well hello there! Yes, you're right...it has been quite awhile since I have posted on here. A few reasons for that, which I will quickly share, and then we can get into the present time and space, which is most important!

Ok so the tail-end of Summer/Fall I entered into a relationship, and it had been a really long time since I had been in one. While it lasted for about 5 months, and ended as amicably as possible, I feel like I was personally struggling with what I really wanted, and also how I would keep the forward momentum on things I have been building for quite sometime. Did I want a someone special in my life? Absolutely. Did I feel like I still had some things to figure out and see to fruition this year. 100% YES. So with that said, ultimately I had to choose myself- and that's not always the easiest thing to do, right? But it's important to do. I know when the time comes again for love to make its way back into my life, I want to feel like I totally gave my everything to making my life the healthiest and best it can possibly be. Does it have to be perfect? Never. But we have a few more things to work on, and that's ok.

And so that's what leads us here...navigating a mind body soul journey as we enter a new season, and new chapter of life.

Spring- a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be.

And life already looks so different this year already! One of the biggest changes is that I'm working from home now, Working from home has honestly been a dream of mine for such a long time. Having a long standing corporate career background. I know it's not for everyone , but I feel I am able to be my best self when working from home. I'm excited for the opportunity to give it a try.

So, in just a short time I have seen how choosing myself and the power of manifestation can really get to work! One thing with manifestation though is that you can't just say "I want this", and expect it to happen lol You have to take action, which means having those sometimes hard conversations and making the moves that will bring the very best into your life.

Ok now we're up to speed on all things life, let's get into this Spring Reset! We're definitely going to make this a weekly series- so I'm going to break down what I am focusing on this season- some of the things that I find helpful, and even not so helpful in my journey.

First let's talk nutrition...

As a guideline I am eliminating gluten and dairy for about a month to see how I feel. And I'll be completely honest I could notice a difference just after TWO days!! Clearer thinking, better energy, less bloat aka clothes fitting better in general. All good things! The other thing I'm looking to do is just be more aware my food labels, watching for added sugars and food colorings etc.

My fave meals of the week are above- banana oat chocolate chip pancakes (SO good) recipe is on my instagram Thyme2GlowUp, chocolate peanut butter cup protein shake, kale tempeh apple and quinoa salad with balsamic dressing and a chickpea pasta made with the Follow Your Heart vegan parm, basil, olive oil, spinach and roasted tomatoes. All super easy to put together and really I just feel like I was treating myself Iike a Queen this week #yassssqueen

But you all, it's not all sunshine ok lol I will say around day 4 I was cranky. I feel like it's because I wanted cheese lol which ok it sounds ridiculous when I'm typing this, but hey this is real life here! Ever since I moved back to the Midwest I have just crept into eating more dairy. So I tried some Follow Your Heart Vegan Parm cheese to sprinkle in here and there and that definitely helped. Also got some Kite Hill Cream Cheese which is dairy free, so we are moving along here! It really is a lot of mindset, so I'm working on my approach- less of what I can't have and more of what I CAN have. That mentality is helping me through the times when I struggle.

Speaking of mindset, I have a few journals I am working with over the next 12 weeks for Spring. I LOVE the idea of having a journal like this for each season and definitely loving this as a new edition to my routine. I got the Fit Journal at Target and it is ahhmazing!! Such a great and simple way to track your progress. You can track your sleep, macros, meals for the day, workouts, water and mood. I have been tracking my moods in the morning and in the evening- this is all important data that can help you see how certain foods may be impacting your mood, and even sleep- and also a great tool for accountability! The Burn After Writing journal is a great tool that prompts you to consider various topics relating to your past, present future. I just picked that up this weekend and will definitely update you all on how I am liking it!

I've also been working on getting into my work from home routine, and honestly, much of it is the same in terms of I still like having some time in the mornings before work to work on content, have coffee, read and get ready. With working from home, I really haven't gotten into just rolling out of bed and getting to work in my pajamas. I just truly want to feel my best and that is not the vibe! But I was really curious if there would be a lot of change with my routine, but honestly to my surprise not so much! I think that is a testament to really learning about routines and habits over the past year, and although I am not working in a "traditional office setting", my morning routine still mostly stands. I do find I am feeling less rushed, which we like haha

What else is new?! Well I am starting a new workout program which I will get into more next week's blog!

You guys I truly feel like this was just an update blog haha but I hope you enjoyed it and I am SO excited to share more of what is to come!

Rooting for you always in your happiness, and what makes you glow oh so bright!

Xxo,

Katie
