Hi beauties! Summer is coming to a close soon, and my favorite season is on it's way...Fall! I wanted to catch up with you all on what is going on in this season of Glowing Up!
This Summer for me personally, has really been all about celebrating the life that I have built so far, and the routines and habits that I have set in place to start to see some wonderful changes both inside and out! If you have seen my "About Me" page, then you have some insight as to how I have had a lot of rebuilding to do after getting divorced in my mid 30's. It's why I'm so passionate in creating a platform such as this blog to share my journey, and things I have learned along the way- in effort to help or inspire you to start making moves that create positive changes in your life too! When you are going through the darkest parts of navigating something hard like divorce or a break up (really any huge life change) and starting over again, know that the pain is temporary, and you have the opportunity to recreate a life better than before. Yes, I said BETTER :)
This Summer I also released the Hot Girl Summer Meal Plan - it's a 4 week plan to show you how to approach your week with both structure and flexibility. I've learned a lot over the past months on the balance between structure and flexibility and I can't wait to show you how to eat delicious meals that give you exactly that! I will show you how to make healthy swaps (aka Sexy swaps) and how to add more in to your diet, rather than stripping everything away. If you haven't checked it out, you can find it HERE. I plan to release more seasonal plans in the future too, so stay tuned for even more to come!
Let's round out this post with some favorite things! What I have been loving this Hot Girl Summer 2022 so far:
Mid-Afternoon Iced Coffee Protein Shake- I have this most afternoons as a snack, and also as a little pick me up to get me through the rest of the work day. To make: Add 1 cup brewed iced coffee, a splash of unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice, a handful of ice, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and a scoop of chocolate protein powder. It's like a mocha iced coffee and so yummy!
Low Carb Wrap Pizzas: I lovvvve pizza, so it's important for me to have it as an option where I can still have it fairly frequently without interfering with my goals! I love the Mission Whole Wheat wraps, and also I have tried the EggLife wraps as well and those are great too!
Here is a summer BBQ Chicken Pizza recipe for you to try- Preheat oven to 400. Add wrap to baking pan with cooking spray and bake for about 6-7 minutes until lightly toasted. Take wrap out of oven and then add 1 laughing cow cheese wedge as base of pizza "sauce". Then top with 1/4 cup diced pineapple, 1/2 cup cooked shredded chicken, diced jalapeno, 1 slice crumbled bacon, 2 tbsp shredded cheese drizzle of Stubb's BBQ sauce on top (lower sugar). Bake for another 3-4 minutes. Pair this with a side salad with a tsp of olive oil and 1 tbsp balsamic or red wine vinegar for dressing and enjoy!
Static Nails- the BEST at home manicure that actually lasts and looks amazing! I don't know if it's the glue they use or what (which doesn't damage your nails like other nail glue I have used!), but these pop on manicures actually last and stay on. They are about $20-$24 per set, but worth it because of how long they last and much less than going to get your nails done every month!
Summer Day Time Make Up: Neutrogena Tinted Moisturizer- I wear this with a tiny bit of liquid bronzer to match more of skin tone in the summer time. This gives just a subtle tint and has SPF 30 in it, so it is perfect for your every day makeup!
Lip Mask by Laneige- When I think of Summer, I think of give me anything and everything hydrating! This lip mask by Laneige is the best I have ever used! I use this in the morning and at night and it helps keep your lips soft, plump and hydrated.
Night Time Sleep Mask by Laneige- This nighttime sleep mask is another must have! I love using this 2-3 times per week, and it literally is like giving your face all the hydration to achieve that soft, dewy summer-time glow. I usually alternate the days that I use my Retinol serum with this mask, and that works very nicely. **As a side note -I got these as a travel size option to try them out before investing in a fuller size product. I recommend doing this whenever you can to see if you actually like the product and how it reacts with your skin.
Tanologist Face & Body Tanning Drops- This is great way to moisturize and refresh your tan! I typically self tan once a week, but will do a refresh with these drops and my face moisturizer mid week to give my tan a refresh. I got a kit at Target that has a tanning mitt, these tanning drops and their Express tan spray for $19.99. The tan was natural looking and did not have any streaking.
Summer Waves- with the humidity in full force I like doing beach waves in the Summer. They hold well and are easy to restyle the next day too! I use the BedHead beach wave hair tool, and then add some heat protectant spray to my hair and some root lift spray as well. It gives the Summertime Beach vibes and even if you're not by a beach, sometimes that is all you need for a little glow up!
And that is a wrap for our Summer 2022 favorites!
I hope you have some good ideas to try out ,and I can't wait to share so much more this Fall! Another season of glowing up is on it's way, and I feel like it's going to be our best yet!
Until next time Xxo,
Katie
